MSK protocol

Scapula MRI

Scapula MRI for marrow abnormalities, infection, and primary bone tumors including osteochondroma, osteoblastoma, Ewing's sarcoma, Paget disease, and Gorham disease. All sequences are aligned relative to the scapular blade. STIR is used for the sagittal plane; T2 FS is used for axial and coronal planes.

For protocol planning and internal reference only. Follow institutional MRI safety screening, contrast, dosage, and GFR policies.

  • Angle perpendicular to the scapular blade.
  • FOV covers the whole scapula from the deltoid muscle laterally past the medial border of the scapula.
